Farming Simulator 25 gets the fun-kind of fishy with the Highlands Fishing expansion: Build a farm and man a fishing boat in the Scotland-inspired town of Kinlaig - a lush paradise of rolling green hills and open waters! A new crop, map, animal type plus fish, gameplay & over 20 machines to farm on land and water await.
New map: Welcome to Kinlaig!
Rocky valleys, covered with rough grass and inhabited by highland cattle: Under an overcast sky that stretches far out to sea, farmers and aquaculturists put to sea and plow the soil in this brand-new, wind-bitten environment. Rich with history, Kinlaig invites with nature and authentic architecture like century-old castles, as well as new construction projects.
Board the Ship & Dive into Aquaculture!
Fishing on land and at sea enables aquafarmers to breed, raise, and harvest various fish. Venturing onto the water offers a new, productive way to gather resources and another peaceful escape in addition to fields, forests, and stables. Casual shore fishing, rod in hand, rounds out the serene image of life by the water.
Fish & Onions + New Brands & Machines
While salmon and rainbow trout populate the salty waters of Kinlaig, a new crop becomes available to grow on the land: onions, specialized equipment included. The fleet of vehicles and implements also grows with four new brands introduced as Monosem, Can-Am, Agri-Spread & GT Bunning join the series.
Rocky valleys, covered with rough grass and overcast by clouds that stretch far out to sea: Inspired by the Scottish Highlands, the environment is rich with history, the great sea is near, and you can dive into fish farming and classic agriculture.
NPC

Kinlaig is a second map in FS25 situated in European country after Zielonka which is located in Poland (if count HORSCH AgroVation mod map which is located in Knezmost, Czech Republic, Kinlaig is a 3rd map located in European country) - it is located in Scotland.
In previous games, Farming Simulator 19 and Farming Simulator 22, JCB Fastrac 4220 and 8330 were featured as a part of vanilla game, but did not make its return in Farming Simulator 25 in the base game, they are a parts of Highlands Fishing Expansion because in 2022 ICON Fastrac tractors launched.
In this expansion, JCB and Holaras, brands that exist in base game, play their main roles: JCB is a British manufacturer of equipment for construction, agriculture, waste handling, and demolition, and Holaras has onion harvesting machines.
Year 2025 also marks JCB's 80th anniversary.
The situation with harvesting onions is same as harvesting potatoes in Farming Simulator 19 with Grimme Pack: the WH 200 and Grimme WR 200 CDW machines are used to dig out potatoes from the ground, and Grimme SE 85-55 harvests digged out potatoes. Same goes with onions in the expansion: first you need to dig out them and clean them using Holaras machines, and then harvest digged out onions with Ropa Keiler 2 RK22 trailed harvester or Grimme Varitron 470 self-propelled one.
