Trivia

  • Lindner Geotrac 134 ep is one of popular Lindner tractors introduced on 24 October 2012, it was produced from 2012 to 2017. Geotrac 134 ep became popular with the most powerful Lindner tractor titule: it has 4.4-liter Perkins turbo diesel engine with 144 hp power with maximum torque rated at 560 Nm at 1,400 rpm.

Real-life

Description

At 24 October 2012, Lindner unveiled its most powerful tractor ever: the Geotrac 134 ep: The new 4.4-liter turbo diesel engine from Perkins delivers up to 144 hp, with maximum torque rated at 560 Nm at 1,400 rpm. These are just two of the tractors, which are very similar in design to the 124, but internally completely new.

“With the 134 ep, we are primarily targeting grassland and arable farming in core export markets such as Germany and France, as well as inter-company use, the forestry sector and local communities,” explained Managing Director Hermann Lindner yesterday at the initial presentation in Kundl.

When asked by top agrar about the competitors they intend to compete against in the future with the Geotrac 134 ep, David Lindner said: "We want to compete with, for example, a Deutz Agrotron with 6 cylinders." And Hermann Lindner added: "The 134 ep can also be an alternative to the Steyr, between the 9000 series and the Profi."

8 cm longer than its predecessor

The compact dimensions and high performance of the new model should contribute to this. The Geotrac 134 ep is only 8 cm longer and has a wheelbase that is also 8 cm wider than the 124; otherwise, its dimensions are identical to the predecessor model. The power curve shows its powerful maximum torque of 540 Nm.

According to Chief Technology Officer Stefan Lindner, it was particularly important for Lindner to build the most efficient tractor possible. This has been achieved with the 134 ep. The overall package of improvements to the engine, transmission, and hydraulics makes fuel savings of up to 15% possible. On the test bench, we were able to measure savings of up to 1.2 l/h compared to the predecessor model, the Geotrac 124, Lindner said.

Transmission with up to 48 gears

Further details of the new Geotrac 134 ep: The 32/32-speed ZF transmission is available with an additional creeper gear (48/48 gears) upon request. The lowest possible speed is 290 m/h.

The four powershift gears can be engaged manually or automatically via APS. The Comfort Shift function allows for clutch engagement at the push of a button. Speed Matching is used for particularly heavy-duty applications. This utilizes the engine power up to maximum speed and selects the optimal powershift gear. The Power Shuttle can be operated using the direction lever on the steering wheel or the multifunction armrest.

A top speed of 43 km/h (27 mph) is achieved at a reduced engine speed of 1,750 rpm. A 50 km/h (31 mph) version with the necessary front axle suspension is also available as an option. This speed is achieved at a reduced engine speed of 2,050 rpm. A proportional 4-speed PTO is standard. A ground speed PTO is also available as an option.

6600 kp lifting capacity rear

Regarding the hydraulics: The 134 ep is equipped with a new Bosch axial pump with a flow rate of 120 l/min. It also includes two double-acting EHS control units with joystick operation on the multifunction armrest, a mechanical L-S control unit with flow control, electronic control with automatic hydraulic control (AHC) including vibration damping. Lindner specifies the rear lifting capacity as 6600 kp.

More safety thanks to rear view camera

The panoramic cab is already familiar from previous models. It features all-round visibility in all directions. And, according to Stefan Lindner, it is particularly safe thanks to its ROPS and FOPS structures. A further safety feature is a rear-facing camera.

The camera image is displayed on the new IBC interior mirror. The mirror also displays the speed. Another "treat" is a built-in navigation system.

The steering wheel can be adjusted for height and tilt using a lever. In addition to the Grammer seat with air suspension, the Geotrac 134 ep also features a real passenger seat with a concealed seatbelt.

All vehicle information is displayed on the standard on-board computer. Navigation is performed using a rotary dial and illuminated function keys. The EHS hydraulics can also be adjusted via the monitor.

Lindner has also further developed the lighting concept for the Geotrac 134 ep: According to Stefan Lindner, bright H7 headlights, bi-halogen lights, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights ensure the most economical use of energy while optimally illuminating the work surface.

Quality has its price: Lindner lists the Geotrac 134 ep at €98,700 including VAT. According to Hermann Lindner, the machine will be available from March 2013.
