The Fliegl ASS 298 is a Tipper available in Farming Simulator 15. It is the smallest semi-trailer Tipper in the game, that can either be connected directly to a Truck, or mounted on a Dolly and connected to a tractor. It is designed to ferry large quantities of cargo in bulk, but can also be used to offload Harvesters.

Overview

The Fliegl ASS 298 is a fairly-large universal Tipper. It is designed to carry Crop yields and other materials from place to place, and to dump said materials into stationary receptacles when needed. It suitable for unloading Harvesters, but can also serve to ferry cargo in bulk from location to location.

The ASS 298 is a universal Tipper, which means it can carry any of the following: Wheat, Barley, Canola, Corn, Sugar Beet, Potato, Chaff, Silage and Wood Chips.

The capacity of the ASS 298 is 47,000 liters. It can reliably empty any Harvester in the game in one go. The ASS 298 is fairly heavy, especially when fully loaded. It can comfortably be pulled by a Truck, but may struggle if attached via Dolly to anything less than a large tractor.

The ASS 298 is the smallest Tipper in the base game that has a Fifth Wheel attachment at the front - meaning that it can only be directly attached to a Truck. It can be connected to a Tractor or Harvester, but this requires a Dolly to serve as an adapter. The ASS 298 does not have any attachment point at the rear.

The ASS 298 can be commanded to unload its cargo whenever it has reached a designated unloading point, such as the Silo at your farm. The ASS 298 only has a hinged door at the back, so it will need to be backed up into certain unloading points, such as the Sugar Beet, Potatoes, and Wood Chips compartments at the farm storage facility. This may prove troublesome when mounted on a Dolly, as it gives the vehicle two pivot axles instead of the normal one. This should not be much of a problem when attached to a Truck.

Also note that the ASS 298 is very long for its capacity. This may make maneuvering more difficult as well. However, this allows it to have slightly lower sides than other Tippers of its size category, allowing it to service a small harvester like the New Holland TC5.90, although careful maneuvering may be necessary.

Overall, the ASS 298 does not offer any real advantage over the next smaller and cheaper Tipper, the Krampe Big Body 900 S, unless you intend to pull it behind a Truck.
