The Capello Quasar HS 16 is a Harvesting Header available in Farming Simulator 17. It is the only super-wide Corn/Sunflower header in the base game, and the widest Corn Header overall. With no competitors, it is the best possible choice for cutting Corn. However for Sunflowers, it has direct competition from the Capello Helianthus 12000, which is arguably the better model for that crop.

Advantages

  • Widest (for Corn): With a Working Width of 12.0 meters, the Quasar HS 16 is the widest of all Corn Headers, and has no direct competition for that crop. If you want a Corn header and can afford the money, the Quasar HS 16 is your best choice.
  • Folding Arms: The Quasar HS 16 can fold its arms for transportation, reducing its width to about 6.5 meters (from an unfolded width of 12 meters). This still leaves it somewhat wide, but not so much that it should require a Header Trailer.
  • Low Power Consumption (for Sunflowers): The Capello Quasar HS 16 only requires 100 kW / 135 hp to operate. This allows even small Harvesters to use this header. Its only real competitor in Sunflower harvesting, the Capello Helianthus 12000, requires a massive 415 hp, and thus requires at least a Large-class Harvester to use properly. If you do not have / cannot afford a Large-class harvester, the Quasar HS 16 is likely your only choice.
  • Color Customization: The Quasar HS 16 can be repainted in any color.

Disadvantages

  • Slow (for Sunflowers): In the case of Sunflowers, the Quasar HS 16 is in direct competition with the Capello Helianthus 12000 - a 12.0 meter model that can only cut Sunflowers. For this crop, the Quasar HS 16 is arguably the lesser choice, as it can only work at a maximum speed of 9 km/h / 6 mph, whereas the Helianthus 12000 can do 15 km/h / 9 mph - completing the same work significantly faster.
