The Lizard Pickup Rodeo is a Car available in Farming Simulator 17. It is the cheaper and weaker of the two Car models in the base game. Underwhelming at first, it can be upgraded with a powerful engine to almost-match its pricier counterpart. Unfortunately, it is a very light vehicle, which makes it unstable and potentially incapable of towing or carrying heavy cargo. Its appearance is reminiscent to that of a 1972 Ford F-Series

Advantages

  • Very Fast: Like all other Cars, the Pickup Rodeo can achieve a maximum speed of 122 km/h / 74 mph, making it one of the fastest vehicles in the game.
  • Cheap: A basic Pickup Rodeo costs only $22,000, which should be easily affordable in the early game as a towing vehicle for small Containers and Tankers, as well as other early-game machinery and cargo.
  • Two Engine Upgrades: The Pickup Rodeo can receive two different engine upgrades, each making it significantly stronger. With the second engine upgrade, it can almost match the Lizard Pickup TT in sheer power, while still costing $12,000 less.

Disadvantages

  • Too Light: The Pickup Rodeo is the lightest of all Vehicles in the base game, which makes it extremely easy to flip over, especially at high speed.
  • Unbalanced: Even more importantly, the center-of-mass of the Pickup Rodeo is shifted very far backwards whenever it tries to carry heavier cargo or tow heavier equipment. If the weight is shifted too much, the Rodeo's front wheels could lift right off the ground when trying to accelerate, especially from a standstill. Installing engine upgrades makes the problem even worse.

Customization

Engine Setup

  • Pickup Rodeo 100: No change to engine power.
  • Pickup Rodeo 140 (+$10,000): Increases engine power output to 121 kW / 165 hp, which is slightly less than a Same Fortis Medium-class Tractor.
  • Pickup Rodeo 200 (+$10,000): Increases engine power output to 140 kW / 190 hp, making this Car nearly as powerful as a Lizard Pickup TT, but still costing $12,000 less.
