The New Holland 980CF 12R is a Harvesting Header available in Farming Simulator 17. It is one of three large-sized Corn/Sunflower headers in the base game. The 980CF 12R is practically identical to the Capello Diamant HS12, which is significantly cheaper. It has no advantages over that model, but is not a bad Header either.

Advantages

  • None: The 980CF 12R has no advantages over its competitor model, the Capello Diamant HS12 - only a few minor disadvantages. It is possible that the developers planned for its advantage to be that it could connect to the largest Harvester in the game, the New Holland CR10.90 - but that is not the case in-game (any Header can be connected to any Harvester).
  • Folding Arms: The 980CF 12R can fold its arms for transportation, reducing its width to about 5 meters (from an unfolded width of 9 meters). This makes it almost as narrow as the Harvester carrying it. NOTE: The Capello Diamant HS12 also has this advantage - and at a lower price.

Disadvantages

  • Needlessly Expensive: The 980CF 12R costs $4,000 (+$20 per day) more than the Capello Diamant HS12, despite having no advantages over that model.
  • Power Hungry: The 980CF 12R requires 90 kW / 122 hp to power. This is to be expected for its size, but is a much higher power consumption than that of the Capello Diamant HS12. Note however that is not a real disadvantage, because any Harvester in the base game can easily provide 122 hp.
