The Väderstad Carrier 820 is a mid-sized Cultivator available in Farming Simulator 15. It is the smallest and cheapest Cultivator that has a Drawbar (Ball) hitch, and is significantly faster and wider than all of its smaller counterparts. It is also the largest Cultivator that does not absolutely require a large tractor to operate it.

Overview

The Väderstad Carrier 820 is a mid-sized Cultivator. It is both wider and faster than any of the cheaper Cultivators, and surpasses all Plows by a wide margin.

The Carrier 820 is an array of metal blades, wheels and spikes, suspended under a metal frame. It has four separate wheels which help it during transport, but fold away for work. In fact, the entire device can fold into an easy-to-transport configuration. When this device is unfolded, lowered, and towed across a field, it will churn and smooth the soil it passes over, leaving it suitable for seeding.

The Carrier 820 has a Drawbar (Ball) hitch at the front, which can be attached to any tractor in the game, as well as the Lizard PiQup and even most Harvesters. It can even be operated by any of these vehicles, as long as the vehicle is strong enough to pull the device (see below). The Carrier 820 is the smallest Cultivator with this type of hitch.

When attached this way and lowered, the Carrier 820 will plow any soil it passes over. It will destroy crops as it passes, no matter what growth stage they are in. It does not remove any fertilizer that may still be in the ground. The cultivated ground may then be seeded with any crop.

The Carrier 820 does not need any power to operate, even though the shop claims that it requires 184 kW / 250 hp. Since it does not actually require power input, it can be operated even when towed by a Harvester. However, these numbers can be seen as a suggested power rating for its towing vehicle, because the Carrier 820 is simply too heavy to be operated by a smaller tractor - it will become almost immobile once its blades dig into the ground. Even a mid-sized tractor may require a Weight attached to its front side, to balance the weight of the Carrier 820.

While working, the Carrier 820 enforces a speed limit of 22 km/h - significantly faster than its next smaller counterpart. It is one of only two Cultivators that can go this fast (the only other is the Lemken Helidor Gigant). The extra speed, plus its large working width of 8.0 meters, make it a very effective Cultivator.
