About

The Biogas Plant is a Sale Point in Farming Simulator 19. It exists on a Parcel of land, which you must buy in order to use it.

At the Biogas Plant, you can sell Silage, Hay, Straw, Slurry and Manure. The price paid for Silage, Hay and Straw is almost always a fixed price, and almost always a better price than those materials will fetch at other Sale Points, - for example, at the Barn. It is the only place that you can sell Slurry and Manure.

Digestate

For each product that you sell at the Biogas Plant, a certain amount of Digestate, a useful by-product, that can be used as fertiliser, is produced.

Processing Speed

The sale point of the Biogas Plant will have a digital counter close by, displaying its current fill level. It can store (by default) 50,000 litres of product to be processed, and processes it at a rate (by default) of 10 litres per second of game time (ie if you speed up the game time, this process will accelerate accordingly).

Operating full-time, this means that the Biogas Plant can process 864,000 litres of product per in-game day. Since speeding up the game affects the Slurry and Manure production rates of your Animal Pens as well as the processing speed of the Plant, there is no way to allow the plant to 'get ahead', if your production per day exceeds this figure, other than by

  • buying additional Biogas Plant parcels if your game has them;
  • modifying the game files to increase the processing speed or the storage capacities of the Plant; or
  • using a mod that does the above, or that adds placeable Biogas Plants.

Silage On Site

Most Biogas Plants have Silage Bunkers, which can be used for making large quantities of silage that you intend to sell to the Plant. This reduces transporting, but does not eliminate it, - you still need to get the silage from this bunker to the sale point, either with Belts, or with a Wheel Loader or similar.

Payment

Payment from the Biogas Plant is made in a lump sum, at midnight each day, for goods sold there during the previous 24 in-game hours.
