Forage is an animal feed type in Farming Simulator 19.

When a Mixer Wagon is loaded with more than one of the three products that it accepts (Hay, Silage and Straw), and those products are not in the correct proportions to constitute Total Mixed Ration (TMR), the Mixer wagon can be seen to contain Forage.

There are three things that can be done when a Mixer Wagon contains Forage:

  1. If it is not yet full, the ratio of the products in the Mixer wagon may be able to be corrected by adding more of a product that there is not yet enough of, such that its contents instead become Total Mixed Ration;
  2. Unloading the Forage into the feeding trough of a Cow Pasture, where each product will be separated out and deposited as itself into the Pasture. Hay will be deposited first, then Silage. Both of these fill the 'Hay/Silage' reservoir in the Pasture. Straw can not be fed to cows, and so if it is present in the mixture, it remains in the Mixer Wagon as Straw, by itself, when unloading Forage into the feeding point of a Pasture, and can then be either dumped onto the ground or deposited at a point that accepts Straw, such as the straw zone of the Cow Pasture, or a Hay Loft.
  3. 'Unload Here', - dump the contents of the Mixer Wagon out onto the ground, where they will form individual Heaps of each constituent product. The Mixer Wagon may need to be moved around whilst dumping, - if the Heaps get too high, the unloading will stop. It may also be possible to adjust the ratio of the products by doing this, - if, for instance, there is too too much Hay, and you 'Unload Here', the Hay will be the first product to be unloaded, and that may gradually balance out the ratio in the Mixer Wagon, eventually yielding Total Mixed Ration. Once the proportions become acceptable, the contents of the Mixer Wagon becomes Total Mixed Ration. Unloading will stop, temporarily, because the Wagon wil not be able to unload the newly-created TMR on top of the recently dumped Hay, but as soon as the Wagon is moved, it will start to dump TMR on the ground. To avoid this, the unloading should be stopped aftar the transformation happens, and before the Wagon is moved again.
