The Rostselmash RSM 1403 is a Forage Harvester available in Farming Simulator 17.
Description
The Rostselmash RSM 1403 is the cheapest and smallest of all Forage Harvesters. The RSM 1403's small frame and relatively-low Horsepower make it more difficult to work with large Forage Headers and Tippers, but it is an economic choice for starting up your Chaff/Silage industry.
Advantages
- "Cheap": Despite its high price, the RSM 1403 is still the cheapest of all Forage Harvesters, costing $54,000 less than the next larger model (the Krone BiG X 580).
Disadvantages
- Slow: The RSM 1403 is the slowest of all Forage Harvesters, capable of reaching only 32 km/h / 20 mph while turned off. If you need to move it between distant fields, consider using a Low Loader to transport it.
- Low Horsepower: The RSM 1403 provides significantly less Horsepower than any other Forage Harvester. While this does not prevent it from using a large Forage Header and Tipper, the RSM 1403 may struggle to move or reach its Maximum Working Speed while operating such tools.
- Small: The RSM 1403 is a physically small model. While this can have its advantages in certain situations, it causes problems when connecting to large Forage Headers like the New Holland 900SFI. This doesn't prevent you from using such headers, but be prepared to encounter various maneuverability issues.
