Farming Simulator 25 (also known as "The Future of Farming Simulator" before official announcement and "Next Generation Farming Simulator") is a farming simulator game developed and published by GIANTS Software. It is the latest game in the Farming Simulator series that released on November 12, 2024. The latest version of the game, 1.15.0.0, released on December 2, 2025.

Features

Farming Simulator 25, the next generation Farming Simulator, introduces twisters and hail with a chance of fog, five new crops - spinach, peas, green beans, rice and long grain rice, three maps: one is North American - Riverbend Springs, one is East Asian - Hutan Pantai, and one is Central European - Zielonka, which returns from Farming Simulator 22's Premium Expansion, new construction projects like Riverbend Springs playground and grain elevator museum or Hutan Pantai temple grounds, new town projects like wagon building and toy building, crop orbs as a collectibles, talking to townsfolk, RANI PLAST consumables and putting away hand tools, ground deformation, updated AI Workers and new GPS Steering, two new animals - water buffalos and goats, alongside with a baby animals and dynamic pastures, new selling points (farming shops) and more production chains.

Machines

  • New types of machines are joining the game, like the Iseki PRJ8D rice transplanter, Oxbo MKB-4TR spinach harvester and Aprilia RX125 motorcycle.
  • There are more than 150 brands in game, notable brands are AGRIFAC, INTERNATIONAL, MacDon, MERLO, MZURI and Sennebogen.
  • Motorcycles confirmed with confirmation of Aprilia license.
  • Telehandlers with unique features included - Sennebogen 340G appears with a liftable cabin, and Merlo MF44.9CS-170-CVTRONIC appears with a rear hydraulic attacher.
  • Shop has been totally reworked.
  • Now you can sell your vehicles from "Vehicles" menu in shop, which is also available with statistics together.

History of the game

Farming Simulator 25 has a large history of its development as a future of Farming Simulator. Here are topics of its history:

  • 2024: year when Farming Simulator 25 released.
  • 2025: game expansion with Year 1 Season Pass, new patches and content update releases, return of Precision Farming DLC and two free remastered maps.

2024: Announcement and release

Officially announced on 25 June 2024, the future of Farming Simulator, Farming Simulator 25, had a lot of bonuses after pre-ordering: MacDon Pack[1], which adds swathing and new MacDon M1170/M1240 swather with headers for it, new grain header and swathing pickup header and New Holland CR11 Gold Edition combine harvester[2]. Also included Farming Simulator 16-bit Retro Edition[3] and Year 1 Season Pass.[4]. These are a part of Collector's Edition, which also includes ignition keys.[5] The game released on 12 November 2024.[6]

Farming Simulator 25 features 3 base game maps - Riverbend Springs (America)[7], Hutan Pantai[8][9] (Asia) and Zielonka (Europe). The game adds 5 new crops - Rice and Long Grain Rice[10], Spinach[11], Peas[12] and Green Beans[13], twisters and hail with a chance of fog,[14] two new animals - Water Buffalos[15] and Goats[16], baby animals and dynamic pastures[17], new constructions and town projects[18], talking to NPCs[19], putting away hand tools and new bale wrap consumables[20], Ground Deformation[21], Steering Assist and updated AI Workers[22], and new production chains with selling point.[23]

Update 1.3 released on 27 November 2024, with various bugfixes and changes.[24] Later, on 12 December 2024, Update 1.4 released, again with various bugfixes and changes.[25]

2025: State of the farm - what's next

Update 1.5 released on 28 January 2025, 1 day later, on 29 January 2025, 1.5.0.1 hotfix update released.[26]

Update History

  • 22 February 2024: Reddit user Rich_Appearance posted leak from B4kernmon about reveal of Farming Simulator 25 and changes. It was all fake, because since beta version releases, people already know the release date of the game.[46]
  • 22 May 2024: Farming Simulator 22 in a Nutshell video released, which shows history of Farming Simulator 22 development. According to comments, some people who watched this video think that this is the end of development of Farming Simulator 22, and the next Farming Simulator game development will start.[47]
  • 14 June 2024: Farming Simulator 25 was leaked in the Epic Games Database, in the spotted titles and codenames.[48]
  • 19 June 2024: A mysterious video was posted on GIANTS Software's YouTube channel and Twitter account, which shows the Farming Simulator 22's logo colour and its HEX code (#2AC1ED), it then changes to a new green colour (#A0C213), which most likely shows the logo of Farming Simulator 25, the next game after Farming Simulator 22.[49]
  • 21 June 2024: GIANTS Software planned to premiere what the "future of Farming Simulator" looks like, the video will be premiered on 25 June.[50]
  • 22 June 2024: Information was leaked, but it was taken down immediately after.[51]
  • 23 June 2024: Cinematic trailer for the game was teased.[52]
  • 25 June 2024: Farming Simulator 25 was officially announced, alongside with a cinematic trailer[53] and first screenshots of the game were released.
    • In same date, DjGoHam released the "Farm Sim Show" podcast, where he and Klutch talks to GIANTS Software about Farming Simulator 25, and GIANTS Software revealed new American map on screenshots.[54]
  • 26 June 2024: More info about Farming Simulator 25 revealed since YouTuber Cornhub interviewed with Chaki.[55]
  • 3 July 2024: GIANTS announced that they will release the first gameplay video of Farming Simulator 25 today at 19:00 CEST.[56]
    • 16:00 CEST: GIANTS published video about FarmCon Pre-Show of FS25 gameplay, which will be premiered later, at 19:00 CEST.[57]
    • 19:00 CEST: GIANTS premiered the gameplay of Farming Simulator 25.[57]
  • 4 July 2024: 1 day ago (counting from the 4 July 2024), GIANTS Software reached 1 million subscribers, thanks to everyone who decided to subscribe on their YouTube Channel during the first gameplay reveal of Farming Simulator 25.
  • 6 July 2024: FarmCon 24 was started, and GIANTS showcased new features of FS25:
    • Rice Cultivation: Rice Saplings Greenhouse, field flooding, planting rice, harvesting rice with Iseki HJ6130 and harvesting long grain rice with New Holland CR11

  • 11 July 2024: All FarmCon 24 presentations were uploaded on Youtube and shown in the blog post.[58]
  • 12 July 2024: GIANTS showed the new feature of Farming Simulator 25 on their X account, YouTube Channel Community, Facebook and Instagram accounts - the ground deformation, which makes tire tracks left on the plowed ground.[59]
  • 23 July 2024: Issue #6 for Farming Simulator Magazine was released, which included the first look at the new Farming Simulator 25 game and making of CGI trailer of it.[60]
  • 24 July 2024: GIANTS announced that from August 21st to 25th, they will be at gamescom 2024, in Cologne, Germany, in hall 6 with the CLAAS XERION 12.650 TERRA TRAC and its 650 units of horsepower, and players who don't want to wait until November 12th, can play a special preview version of the game to take a look at Riverbend Springs and a careful selection of the machines.[61]
  • 25 July 2024: Information about Farming Simulator 25 USB ignition lock which is included in the Collector's Edition of the game was released.[62]
  • 2 August 2024: More info about Riverbend Springs map was revealed, alongside with the map overview showcase.[63]
  • 9 August 2024: More info about Spinach crop was revealed: how to sow and harvest it, unique things of the crop, alongside with its grow state showcase.[64]
  • 13 August 2024: GIANTS showed the new feature of Farming Simulator 25 on their X account, YouTube Channel Community, Facebook and Instagram accounts - the weather shift, which is a twister with a chance of hail.[65]
  • 21 August 2024: Gamescom trailer of Farming Simulator 25 was released.[66] Besides that, the press media was released about revealed features at Gamescom 2024 of Farming Simulator 25: water buffalos and goats join the game, animals now get offspring with baby animals introduced, and twisters join the game.[67]
  • 22 August 2024:
    • 12:00 UTC: Blog post about twisters and hail and what to do when this weather.[68]
    • 13:12 UTC: Merlo, the Italian telescopic handler manufacturer, was confirmed for Farming Simulator 25 with a Merlo Multifarmer 44.9 CS telehandler, which has rear hydraulic attacher that means he can be used for both farming and lifting operations.[69]
  • 23 August 2024: Blog post on the Japanese 4games.net website was released, revealing new screenshots of the game: sheep pasture, Riverbend Springs areas (including sunflower and wheat fields), in-game screenshots of water buffalos, and rice harvesting with Iseki HJ6130 rice harvester, which unloading it to Farmtech EDK 650 tipper trailer, which is attached to Iseki TJW 1233 tractor.[70]
  • 24 August 2024:
    • 9 minutes gameplay video of Farming Simulator 25 at Gamescom 2024 was posted at almost all YouTube channels who wait Farming Simulator 25.
    • DjGoHam posted The Farm Sim Show podcast with GIANTS Community Coordinator Kermit with some Q&A. It was revealed that the tornadoes will happen at most once one year, they will destroy crops, trees and bales (if bales are unroofed), you can turn off them in settings, you can harvest destroyed trees with a chainsaws, and Riverbend Springs is located in Arkansas. Also, it was revealed that they will reveal East Asian map at Tokyo Game Show 2024, in Late September - Early October.[71]
  • 29 August 2024: In the new screenshots from Gamescom 2024 video by The FarmSim Guy YouTuber, he showed the image of Farming Simulator 25 game station with a pea field, confirming that Farming Simulator 25 will feature peas.[72]
  • 30 August 2024: First factsheets of the game were released. There are included Valtra S Series large tractor with a Brantner TR 34090/2 PT+ trailer, Merlo MF44.9CS-170-CVTRONIC telehandler, Oxbo MKB-4TR spinach harvester, and Iseki TJW small tractor with a Farmtech EDK 650 trailer.[73]
  • 1 September 2024: The exclusive gameplay video of Farming Simulator 25 on some Farming Simulator players' (e.g. DjGoHam and Farmer Cop) on YouTube was released, showcasing the extended version of the Gamescom 2024 gameplay which is exclusive for them: it officially confirms green beans and peas for the game, showcasing the updated fuel tank placeable fuel adding limit and updated sleep limit, alongside with a gameplay on night.
  • 3 September 2024: More info about water buffalos was revealed: why they're awesome, what you can produce with them, alongside with the development of water buffalos info from Roman, GIANTS' lead character artist was revealed.[74]
  • 5 September 2024: Small Farmer's Kiosk was confirmed for Farming Simulator 25, where you can sell carrots, grapes, parsnips, spinach, peppers, strawberries, tomatoes, mushrooms and onions.[75]
  • 6 September 2024: New factsheets of the game were released. There are included Case IH AF11 harvester with a Case IH 4418 N corn header, MacDon M1240 windrower (swather) with a MacDon D 140 XL swathing header, Agrifac Condor Endurance II self-propelled sprayer, and John Deere 3650 small tractor with a Great Plains SOLID STAND 1500 seeder.
  • 10 September 2024: Short 25-second video about spinach in Farming Simulator 25 was released on GIANTS' social media channels.[76]
  • 11 September 2024: GIANTS posted on their social accounts new crop for Farming Simulator 25 - rice, which available in two variants - base (wet) rice and long grain rice.[77]
  • 12 September 2024: Peas were officially confirmed by GIANTS Software as a new crop for Farming Simulator 25.[78]
  • 13 September 2024: New factsheets of the game were released. There are included Fendt 700 Vario medium tractor and Bednar Omega OO 6000 FL direct seeder, DEUTZ-FAHR 6C RVShift small tractor with KRONE VariPack V 190 XC Plus round baler, the return of JCB 435S wheel loader, and AGCO White 8010 Series medium tractor with Anderson Group MERGEPRO 915 windrower.
  • 17 September 2024: Short 25-second video about water buffalos in Farming Simulator 25 was released on GIANTS' social media channels.[79]
  • 18 September 2024: GIANTS leaked what will be in the next Farming Simulator 25 blog preview - green beans will be officially confirmed here.[80]
  • 19 September 2024: Green beans were officially confirmed by GIANTS Software as a new crop for Farming Simulator 25.[81]
  • 20 September 2024: New factsheets of the game were released. There are included Oxbo BP2140e green bean harvester, ANNABURGER HTS 22B.79 (part of changing system trailers) and ANNABURGER AW 22.17 trailers, CLAAS EVION 450 harvester with CLAAS VARIO 620 grain header, and Dalbo Powerchain 800 disc harrow.
  • 22 September 2024: GIANTS said that on TwitchCon San Diego, Ultrasaurus and Sparx, which met them there, got to try out a preview build of Farming Simulator 25, and said that visitors can try out for theirselves, too.[82]
  • 24 September 2024: Short 25-second video about Rice in Farming Simulator 25 was released on GIANTS' social media channels.[83]
  • 25 September 2024: GIANTS Software planned to premiere the Farming Simulator 25 trailer revealing new East Asian map.[84]

  • 22 October 2024: Feature trailer of the game was released.[96] Later on that day, Farming Simulator YouTube players that got early access (e.g. DjGoHam Gaming and SMI Modding Team) showed how GPS Steering works and showcase of Riverbend Springs and Hutan Pantai maps, with some new machines that have not yet revealed by GIANTS on the FS25 page being revealed:

  • Farming Simulator 25 released on November 12, 2024. On same date, back in 2020, the Alpine Farming DLC for Farming Simulator 19 released, 4 years before Farming Simulator 25 release, and more years ago at same date, back in 2013, the Väderstad DLC was released, 11 years before Farming Simulator 25 release.
  • The game was named as "Farming Simulator 25" because GIANTS Software often got a questions by the fans - "FS25 when?", or when is coming Farming Simulator 25.
  • This is the first Farming Simulator game which is not available for PlayStation 4 and XBox One consoles. It is available only for PlayStation 5 and XBox Series X/S consoles.

  • This is for the first time when Farming Simulator game series includes map inspired by East Asian environment. Previous games didn't have maps with East Asian environment.

  • This is for the first time when two unrevealed new crops - peas and green beans were leaked before the official reveal by GIANTS Software. That's why two unrevealed crop icons were under the questions on Brantner TR 34090/2 PT+, Farmtech EDK 650 and Great Plains SOLID STAND 1500 factsheets.
    • 2 unannounced crops, one are peas and another one are green beans, appeared on FS25 crop calendar of Farming Simulator 25 Collector's Edition.
    • Peas were officially confirmed in Farming Simulator 25 at Gamescom 2024 exclusive gameplay. One of the field has peas planted.
    • The Oxbo EPD540E pea harvester appears on the title image of FS25 Fact Sheet collection.
    • Peas and Green Beans grow on fields number 44 (peas) and 64 (green beans) of Riverbend Springs map. Also, it was revealed that peas can be planted with a seeder.
  • GIANTS make unique videos for Farming Simulator 25 with a new features preview in 25 seconds.

  • In this game, vehicles and equipment got separate shop categories:
    • "Beet Technology": Ropa Tiger 6S, HOLMER Terra Dos 5-40, AMITYTECH 2720 Harvester Scrub trailed beet harvester, AMITYTECH 3750 Defoliator haulm topper, and Agrifac LightTraxx are in "Beet Harvesters" category, and Ropa Maus 5 is in "Beet Loading" category.
    • "Crop Technology" categories were renamed to "Crop Harvesters" (e.g. "Grape Harvesters", "Pea Harvesters").
    • "Forest Machinery" vehicles got their separate categories - "Forwarders", and tree harvesters are in "Harvesters" category alongside with all forage harvesters.
    • "Animals" category with self-propelled TMR mixers renamed to "Forage Mixers".
    • With a confirmation of motorcycles, "Cars" category is now known as "Cars and Bikes".
    • Semi-Trailers, which were in "Trailers" category in previous games, moved to separate "Semi Trailers" category.
    • "Headers" category is now for forage harvester headers. "Grain Headers" is a separate category for combine harvesters' headers.
    • In Farming Simulator 22's "Beet Technology" category, there were Ropa harvester headers and sugar beet haulm toppers and trailed harvesters. Haulm Toppers and Trailed Harvesters got separate "Beet Harvesters" category, and Ropa headers got separate "Beet Harvester Headers" category. Same goes with cotton, sugarcane, vegetable and grape machines.
    • Extra Seed Tanks got separate category "Seed Tanks".
    • All Slurry tools have their separate categories: Slurry Spreaders are in "Slurry Tankers" category, Slurry Distributors are in "Slurry Tools" category, and Slurry Transport Tanks with Kotte FRC 65 slurry container are in "Slurry Transport" category.
    • Round Balers and Square Balers got their separate categories.
    • Equipment from "Animals" category got separate categories: Water and Milk Tanks are in "Barrels" category, TMR Mixers are in "Forage Mixers" category, and straw blowers are in their own category. Same goes with machines from "Forest Equipment" category - tree planters, winches and wood transporters are in their own categories.

Vehicles and equipment

  • Both New Holland CR11 and Massey Ferguson MF 9S were shown at Agritechnica feature video in Farming Simulator 22 game style, which was a sign that these machines may appear either as a mod, as a free update/DLC, or in the future game. Massey Ferguson MF 9S was shown at Agritechnica gameplay of Farming Simulator 22, but, it was not later featured in the game, however, it made its debut in Farming Simulator 25, alongside with a New Holland CR11 harvester.
  • Novag was confirmed to be featured in Farming Simulator 25 to NPLAY upon request: the Novag T-Force Plus 950 direct seed drill with a 9 meter working width available as a part of base game.
  • Dammann was also confirmed to be featured in FS25 as they told it to NPLAY, but it did not make its appearance in base game release. The Dammann brand added later in NEXAT Pack with Dammann SFP22056 - PROFI-CLASS sprayer, and it was later expanded in Highlands Fishing Expansion.
  • This is another game that features brand that did not appear in previous games before it: HOLMER, Great Plains and Same were not featured in Farming Simulator 22, but they finally return Farming Simulator 25.
    • SAME also was not included in Farming Simulator 19.

Game mechanics

  • This is for the first time when ferries were introduced in the game: to cross the river of the American Riverbend Springs map, you need either find the bridge, or use the ferry for it.
  • Animal pens are totally revamped on Riverbend Springs map: cow pasture and sheep pen looks different than in FS22.
  • This is for the second time where American trucks appear as a licensed - INTERNATIONAL is featured in the game as a second licensed American truck manufacturer with INTERNATIONAL Transtar II Eagle truck, alongside with an INTERNATIONAL CV Series cargo truck and INTERNATIONAL Series 200 pickup.

  • Because tutorials being posted on Farming Simulator Academy, Farming Simulator 25 is a second game which has no tutorials menu.
  • Farming Simulator 25 received 3 million (3,000,000) sales sice 6 February 2025. Celebrating this, GIANTS Software released accolades trailer video.
